Arden, NC (April 9, 2013) – Lexington, Kentucky based group NewTown just signed a contract to release their next album on Pisgah Ridge Records. This dynamic group is known for their tasteful balance of traditional and progressive styles. The group consists of fiddler and vocalist Kati Penn-Williams, her husband and banjo player and vocalist Jr. Williams, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter C.J. Cain, bassist Terry Poirier, and new member Clint Hurd on mandolin and vocals.
The group will be working with producer Tim Surrett at the Crossroads Studios in June to record the new project.
C.J. Cain tells us: “We are really excited about working with Pisgah Ridge on our sophomore project. They are the perfect fit to facilitate the direction we want to go with this release. We can’t wait to get it to the fans!”
Tim Surrett added: “Jr. and I have been friends for 25 years. It’s really great to finally get in the studio and make some music. This band came in and blew us away with their original songs and musicianship. It’s going to be a fun project!”
