NASHVILLE, TN – At a recent CD release event for Wherever I Wander, the guest list included industry insiders and media professionals who are no strangers to superior music. Still, the Snyder Family Band left the guests awestruck. The event was held at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville and was hosted by five-time Grammy winner, Adam Steffey, along with Mountain Home Music Company.

Samantha and Zeb Snyder, whose trio is rounded out with dad, Bud Snyder, on bass, are startlingly gifted siblings who caught the attention of the acoustic music world with the maturity and prowess they showed on New Primitive, a solo project by Steffey, a nine-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year winner. The band became an obvious choice for the Mountain Home Music Company record label.

Wherever I Wander is the Snyder Family Band’s first album on Mountain Home Music Company and is available tomorrow, March 17, 2015. The album was produced by Tim Surrett (of the multi-award winning band, Balsam Range).

The Snyder Family Band is an unparalleled collaboration of brother, sister and father. They have studied the masters, learned the techniques and naturally reach out to find new means of expression that is rooted in tradition yet always innovative.

Transportive instrumentals provide a vehicle for the journey that is Wherever I Wander, while lyrical compositions provide the scenery. Samantha and Zeb Snyder are two of today’s finest young traditionally-based musicians. They are wise beyond their years and consistently bring new energy and ideas to the music, willing to bend tradition without breaking it. Yesterday can be heard in their music as easily as they provide a glimpse of a bright tomorrow. Their sound could be described as Allman Brothers Band meets Stéphane Grappelli meets Doc Watson.

New Music From The Snyder Family Band

SnyderCov3BTraditional music is always changing like a mighty river fed by water from many sources. The change is constant and fed by innovation. Often stirring up the waters are young players like Samantha and Zeb of The Snyder Family Band.

The startlingly gifted siblings caught the attention of the acoustic music world with the maturity and prowess they showed on New Primitive, a recent solo project from nine-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year and seven-time Grammy winner, Adam Steffey. Although the Snyder family has been a mainstay on the touring circuit and was no stranger to the Mountain Home Music Company family, it was the performances of Samantha and Zeb that made the band an obvious choice for the record label.

Wherever I Wander will be the Snyder Family Band’s first album on Mountain Home Music Company. The project is a journey through musical landscapes. From the muddy Delta with “Swamp Music,” over to Georgia with the jaw-dropping extended jam “The Peach Truck,” the collection winds through “New River Rapids,” across the nation with the sultry and emotional electric guitar in “Hittin’ the Highway,” and on to the rustic cabin of Bill Monroe with deep Bluegrass roots thriving on the title cut.

The Snyder Family Band is a sensational trio, made up of Zeb, Samantha and Bud Snyder, an unparalleled collaboration of brother, sister and father. They have studied the masters, learned the techniques and naturally reach out to find new means of expression that is rooted in tradition yet always innovative.

“We are really excited about having this powerful trio join the Mountain Home family. Everyone has just been blown away by what they are recording in the studio. I would say that it’s impressive to hear what they can do at their age but the truth is, it’s impressive at any age. These are extremely advanced players with great vocal power, excellent songwriting and truly interesting musical ideas.” ~ Ty Gilpin, Marketing Director, Mountain Home Music

Flatpicking Phenoms The Snyder Family Band Sign with Mountain Home

ARDEN, NC (August 7, 2014): The Snyder Family Band has signed a multi-year recording contract with major Bluegrass label Mountain Home Music Company in anticipation of their 2015 release.

This sensational family trio, made up of Zeb, Samantha, and Bud Snyder, is known on the Bluegrass scene for playing ability that exceeds their years. Siblings Zeb and Samantha recently caught the attention of the greater acoustic world with their musical prowess as spotlighted on New Primitive, the recent solo project from Mandolin Master and nine-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year winner Adam Steffey.

They are currently in the studio working with producer Tim Surrett (Balsam Range) on their upcoming release. The recording includes original material that is interesting, intricate, and complex, as well as creative cover versions of songs from southern rock artists Lynyrd Skynyrd and Dickie Betts (Allman Brothers Band).

With Zeb Snyder on guitar and mandolin and vocals, Samantha Snyder on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, and Bud Snyder on bass, the project promises sophisticated and powerful musicianship that deserves to be compared to Nickel Creek.

“We are really excited about having this powerful trio join the Mountain Home family,” said Marketing Director Ty Gilpin. “Everyone has just been blown away by what they are recording in the studio. I would start to say that it is impressive to hear what they can do at their age but the truth is, it’s impressive at any age. They are extremely advanced players with great vocal power, excellent songwriting and truly interesting musical ideas.”
